EDSM

When tasked by Wallpaper* to create an audio system suitable for the modern home, I took inspiration from a previous project, revisiting the energy and fluidity of the modernist, architectural forms of Brazil.

Comprised of individual, curved units that stack upon each other, the sculptural audio totem, made of British slate, brass and Corian®, delivers sounds in 360 degrees, in addition to cutting a strong figure. The stacked formation also pays homage to the sound systems of Brazil’s carnivals, which are known as equipes de som – hence the name, ‘EDSM’, for Equipe de Som Modernista. Backed by Ruark Audio technology and DuPont™ Corian®, this system sounds as good as it looks.
